Walking on foot to discover this old preserved part of Willemstad is well worth it if you like history art and old colonial architecture.

They had a variety of outdoor vendors located on the street but they mainly sold the same items at each stand. I expected a bit more variety but it was fun to walk around and look at the booths.

Seems to be the less touristy side of Willemstad. There are some souvenir booths to poke around in along the waterfront. And there are other stores and restaurants nearby. Also look for some local art on some of the sides of homes. It may at...More

Ottobanda is not visited as much by tourists as Punda and has a more local vibe to it. Good shopping for clothing in the Breedestraat, also for locals. There is also a nice church, the Santa Ana.

The views through the streets and along the waterfront are lovely. Must see the bridge, the fort etc., but there are also many derelict areas, safety hazards (e.g. big holes in the walkway), loads of litter and unkempt & dirty areas. Probably was really nice...More

My wife and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the town. All the people were friendly and helpful to everyone. The city is rather clean and safe. We were able to use Google Maps on our phone for navigation seamless.

The food was 5* quality along with the very friendly wait staff. We had tuna steak and ribs. The wine, cappuccino and mouthwatering dessert completed the meal perfectly. The food was delicious and highly recommend it to Families or couples.

Strolling the streets gives a good sense of local living and culture, but no shops worth highlighting. Navigating the sidestreets is a bit challenging as many lead nowhere, or place you in questionable areas away from public view. Don't go on a Sunday, most everything...More
