The Curacao Maritime Museum takes its visitors on a discovery tour of more then 500 years maritime history of Curacao. The story-line is illustrated through a permanent exhibition consisting of displays with authentic nautical charts, ship models and navigation equipment combined with audiovisual techniques...an attraction not to be missed. As well as the exhibition, the museum also offers a number of interesting tours. Besides a tour of the museum, a demonstration of the mini refinery, which is set up in a separate exhibition hall of the museum, can also be attended. In addition, a tour through the harbour can be made.

Enjoy the history of Curacao through the maritime lens, a museum worth seeing in combination with the Curacao Museum and the Synagogue.

This museum is worth the time and expense to visit. It is easy to walk there in a few minutes from the Queen Emma Bridge. Many of the exhibits provide insight to Curacao's colonial and slave-trading history.

I visited this museum as part of a cruise ship excursion walking tour. Unfortunately, we weren't given much time here to see the exhibits because the tour guide gave us a tour of the museum pointing out what she thought was important. I would much...More

On Wednesday or Saturday For 10 U.S dollars you can take a harbor cruise and it is money well spent. About 40 mins in length they do a great job of explaining shipping and some history of Curacao. Even if you aren't interested in history...More

We were wandering around and stopped for a visit. We were there late in the day and had to rush before clouding time. They did warn us that they were closing soon. Cover both past and current Dutch Navy history in the Caribbean.

I'm not a big museum fanatic, but I do enjoy history. This museum has some very interesting pieces to show much of Curacao's history. I did the Harbourtour as well, and was the only person who required the tour in English. They were extremely accommodating...More

The history of Curacao is intimately connected with the sea with the reason for the importance of Willemstad being it’s excellent natural harbour. The maritime museum does a very good job of highlighting this. There are many displays with both English and Dutch explanations. Many...More
