The Ambrosio Cave was absolutely awesome. A quick drive from our hotel (the Allegro Palma Real) and we are looking at Pre-Columbian drawings. The guide was very informative regarding the cave, the drawings and the bats in the cave. Only 5 pesos to go in...More

We noticed this was within walking distance of our resort and decided to give it a try. If you aren't careful you can miss it, there's not much at the entrance - a little entrance booth and what looks like a teepee frame. It's 5...More

Somewhat interesting but I felt sorry for the bats being disturbed by flashlights. Granted that's probably the only way you would get to see them in the daytime. It is rather overpriced at 5 cuc's a person unless you get a very good guide.

Amazing to see ancient wall-paintings and loads of bats. A good strong torch is provided. Holes in the roof give a spotlight effect. Wear trainers and take water.

I liked the caves....high enough not to crouch down....petroglyphs and stalagmites to see as well. But the bats are cool....you go in with a flash light and that will disturb the bats making them fly about.... to into your hair though :) The tour guide...More

Something different.I have claustrophobia so was scary.Lots of bats also, so if you don’t like bats,I suggest just avoid the place. The guy working there was nice. Worth the 5 CUC to see some neat Cuban history.

You must pay 5CUC (much, much cheaper if you are a local) to enter, but it comes with a guided tour. The tour guide was an older man who was funny and friendly. The cave is a nice change compared to the beach and resorts...More

One of the 47 archeological sites discovered in Varadero, this cave is probably the most impressive with a length of 300 meters. Rumored to have been once used by slaves as a refuge, this cave is famous for the paintings made by pre-Colombian aboriginal tribes....More

Just take the bus $5 CUCs per person for the bus. And $5 for entry. The guide will give you a tour and explain what the caves were used for and some history of the island.
