I was fortunate to have a semi-private tour of the university but I imagine official tours follow the same route. This is the oldest university in Cuba wth some interesting colonial buildings. From the stately law building to the magnificent auditorium (Aula Magna) with its...More

Whoever chats with you will look for a meal or a tip. I had a great time checking out the area and getting filled in on the Life of a college student. The best way to learn some history.

We couldn't go in,but nice to see the architecture and see the students on campus. There was a great book store on a house's porch on J street between 27th and 25th.

The University has a big campus. We took pictures on the steps halfway up. It was so many steps but had beautiful architecture.

This is a striking building and a fitting centre piece to the area. Very busy during the day as students hurry to and fro to their classes....

We arrived in cuba just a few days before the death of fidel castro and visited the university before and after his death. It is one of the most important places regarding the cuban revolution. A lot of history inside!

This is not necessarily a destination, but the beautiful Art Deco buildings make it a beautiful place for photos and the shade make it a good respite from the heat.
