We went from Jaruco to Hershey and even though its a rough ride we loved it. It stops in different small towns with locals getting on and off. Great way to discover Cuba.

OK this Train is very old, the station is scary, and don't go if you need the toilet a lot. But otherwise it's a great experience, traveling through some very beautiful countryside I can thoroughly recommend this trip.

There's only a few trains each day (terminus in Matazanos) with stop at Hershey. If one is serious, you should check the itinerary ahead of time as it will most likely take half a day as the return train won't happen for a few hours...More

It is the only electric train in Cuba - and it is very old. A trip on it is almost worth it just for the historical interest. Delays and cancellations are the norm. The staff sre very friendly - but don't speak much English.

Historic commuter train runs 130km 3 times a day, between Havana, Hershey, Jibacoa, Canasi and Matanzas. Great way to see scenery and locals on a short trip or 3 hours to other end. Must-eye for railfans.
