Interesting Museum, but accommodation was poor at Playa Larga. Just a collection of Casa Particulares which were not very Particular. The usual government hotel has a good position. Heard that the scuba diving was very good. Lots of tourists who came to do bird watching. Quality of guides available was very mixed. Good with explanations was Javier. Great spotter was... More

The beach is not very good but the water is warm and clear. We swam quit close to the beach and we still had the opportunity to swim with... More

Please be aware the bay of pigs is quite a big area or at least they call the same name to quite a big area. The snorkeling in front of the Fish Cave is amazing with clear water , with coral reefs and lots of fish. While the Fish Cave itself seems a bit dirty. I had never had such... More

The museum at Playa Giron is worth a detour. It gives reasonable insight into the CIA led invasion thru a series of photos and decommisoned weaponry. There is a Cadeca opposite.

Worthwhile to see the quiet blue bay that was the scene of US aggression almost 60 years ago. On the highway to Cienfuegos the coastline now offers a cenote swim on the inland side at Cueva de Los Peces and a brief dip in the gorgeous aquamarine waters of the Caribbean at Playa Largo across the road—no admission charged. Bring... More

We were a bit disappointed about this bay... it's just a regular bay, nothing special. It's not even an ideal place to hang out or to take a rest to my opinion. If you are in the area, you can stop here but I would definitely not recommend to drive to this part of Cuba specially for this bay.

The Bay of Pigs is a stretch of water about 20km long between Playa Larga and Playa Giron on the southern coast of central Cuba. Famous for being the landing point for CIA backed militia sent to topple Fidel Castro in 1961. Once witness to some fierce fighting it is now a pretty stretch of Caribbean coastline with crystal clear... More

The Bay Of the Pigs is a must place to stop. The beach is so beautiful and the water so clear. It's great for scuba diving. The museum is small and the explanations are only in Spanish
