We visited the Observatory on 19th August - two Barbadians with 6 U.S.A. friends and relatives. We were given a most informative lecture with video presentation before ascending the stairs to the Observatory platform from which we had a wonderful view of the scenery of Christ Church parish by night. Then into the observatory where the telescope was focused first... More

an excellent evening! Our guide was very informative and I came away with some amazing pictures of the moon! This place needs much more advertising as lots of tourists would visit if onlythey knew it existed. Having toured nearly every attraction, thiswas one of the best.

As a novice to astronomy I went along to this Observatory on a beautiful Friday evening. It is now up there in my top ten experiences. The tour / observation was extremely well organised and so interesting. From beginning to end the information received / presented was perfect for all attending regardless of their prior knowledge. This has to be... More

Brilliant efficient society staff that are very enthusiastic about sharing their passion with others. Arrived early and Ade was very chatty about the observatory and his passion. Started on time with a number of people arriving late. The presentation was extremely informative and sets you up for going to the telescope. The moon was clear and bright and we all... More

Growing up in the country, away from the big city lights, the stars appeared so bright and numerous. I would spend hours stargazing and wondering what the stars and planets would look like up close. Last evening I finally had the opportunity to look through a telescope in the only observatory in the Eastern Caribbean and see the various bands... More

Nice place, nice people. Astronomer arrived 15 minutes late. He was knowledgable and walked the 40-or-so people through a 20 minute slide-show on the history of astronomy. Once over, he directed everyone towards a small set of stairs where workers collected US$10 from everyone. People crammed themselves into the small dome at the top. My family and I, and what... We went there as a group and it was pretty frustrating. We had to wait in a circle around the telescope in the middle of the room and take turns for a look see. Ever conscious of the next person mist people just took a quick glance and moved. It was hot and cramped. It could have been a lovely... More

I absolutely loved visiting the Harry Bayley observatory. We were there as a private visit arranged by my mother-in-law for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Ade and Nicholas were wonderful guides for the evening, showing us constellations, the Milky Way and incredible close-ups of the Moon. Funny, articulate and knowledgeable, these guys really knew their stuff and the observatory... More
