A benefactor recently provided 15 million to renovate this Jewish historical site . The oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Visit the museum . Jews brought the sugar industry from Brazil to Barbados .A World Heratage site

I highly recommend a visit to the synagogue and museum. Worth every penny! Very educational and provides visitors with a piece of history that can not be found elsewhere on the island.

We visited the Synagogue in Bridgetown today. We visited the Synagogue first which we found most interesting. The museum was locked initially until we found someone to open up. It was interesting to read the history of the Jews, but the setting was too clinical....More

Opening hours for the synagogue & museum are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. $25 is the fee to visit the museum. For visits, you may dress casual including wearing shorts for visit. For church services... More
