If you like to visit sites that offer historical value to your trip, please consider this stop as one of the must while you are in Antigua. The history of the dockyard and how it came to be, the job it did in the area, how the work was done, and so much more is fascinating to see in person.

Views of harbour great from Shirley heights but could not get much of a view when in dockyard itself, whole experience was underwhelming, could be done so much better, the tour is pretty basic, bakery is recommended by tour guide but really below par, trinkum gift shops, small museum, altogether disappointing. Hang onto ticket though as gets you upto Shirley... More

Parking was an issue but it was sailing week, however once inside the complex - $8 per person giving access also to Shirley Heights above English harbour this is good value. The museum is well laid out, informative and the many artefacts give a unique insight into Naval life during Lord Nelson's time and the importance of Antigua during the... More

I spent an afternoon walking the Harbor and looking at all the buildings from the Old Paymaster Building to the Governors quarters. Very interesting. Beautiful ships in Harbor. A few places to eat, though one pub I was interested in, was not serving food at 4

We found this an unexpected surprise. Well restored, well maintained and a worthwhile museum to help you appreciate the past. We both learned a lot about the past on our visit here.

Worth a visit. Plenty of history with museum on site. A number of restaurants and bars. Visit should take no more than 2 hours if you book taxi and want to pre book collection. Once you have brought ticket you can go in and out as you please.

We visited the dockyard as part of an island tour and as a consequence wished we could have had more time to enjoy it. Obviously the history and buildings are well worth the 8 USD entrance fee which includes a guided tour which was very informative and familiarises you with the main things to do to explore further at your...
