Relaxed luxury
Jan 2021 • Couples
We landed the day before the UK lockdown so the resort was very quiet. The room was perfect with an uninterrupted of the sea and our own gallery, decking and beach area. The food and drink were fabulous and the staff were attentive and helpful. As it was so quiet we had no trouble booking into the restaurants, yoga, gym and water sports. I would recommend a trip on one of Captain Sean's sea cruises. Holiday was topped off for my cricket loving husband when the on the Sat night included 2 famous retired international cricketers!

A beautiful beach to relax on .
Jan 2021
Antigua has so many lovely beaches that it is difficult to choose the best. During my stay in Five Islands, I found this beach to be quiet and relaxing. I encounter only one other visitor which made me feel that I had the beach all to myself. No facilities but parking on the side of the beach is available. Bring your food and drinks.

Nice and quiet
Mar 2020
This beach is dominated by the Galley Bay resort. Other than that, it is quite peaceful. The ocean is nice and sand is brown sugar like. A worthwhile spot if you get the chance to get a relaxing day at the beach.

Nice adults only resort with a good beach
Nov 2019
We were welcomed by friendly staff and offered a refreshing face towel and drink. Our room was the top category and was very newly renovated. Great size bedroom area with an adjoining living room. Bathroom was very large with shower and large bathtub. The terrace was large and contained 2 lounge chairs and table. All rooms face the water and are on the beach. We refer 2nd floor rooms. There is no room service and no bar or food service on the beach. But there are a couple of restaurants and bars very close to the beach. The pool area is nice with a beautiful rock waterfall. Lots of lounge chairs on the beach and at the pool. Was never a problem.
We found that the food good....but not great and the choices were fairly limited.

Back for the 6th time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint! Room on the beautiful beach, the sea was rough for 2 days which we’ve not previously known so spent some time by the pool . Food was great at both restaurants and the beach side grill . As ever the staff were brilliant, lovely to see them again & couldn't do enough to please. No doubt , we will be back !

A Tropical Paradise Memorable Experience
Oct 2019 • Couples
This was a relaxing tropical Paradise vacation. The room was beautiful and literally right on the beach. The water was warm and absolutely gorgeous. I was impressed with the staff they were very nice and accomadating. Natasha and Peter really engaged with their guests and was very comical. The food was delicious at both Restaurants.
The best resort that I've been too.

Land Cruise
Oct 2019 • Couples
The beach was beautiful. The location of the room on the beach was also nice. It’s definitely a resort for seniors and there were a few honeymooners in 30’s. There was not much in between. The food and wine were acceptable but not great unless you paid extra. The staff was very friendly and attentive except the breakfast crew and drinks at pool. They were slow and acted bothered with any requests. There were also too many rules - no sitting on cushions at outside bar if you had been swimming, no food at pool (not even the lunch you ordered nearby), only one beach towel per guest and not any extras available at pool. Additionally, no beach chairs on beach near bar area (only at individual rooms) and no umbrellas available. No music anywhere except at night if live music. No music at bar, no music at pool and no music in restaurants. Accommodations were clean and decent but need to be updated. Water sports was lacking. Manager was very nice and attentive. Three nights and four days was the maximum I could stay here...bored and sick of food choices by day three.

Hi, we want to stay here. Are there any single storey rooms on the beach or are they all 2 storey?

The rooms are all single storey. To explain, some units have one room on the ground level and another room above it. Nevertheless, they do have single storey, single rooms - they are more expensive but very enjoyable.

Hello, Just wondering if there is bar service on the beach? :)

there is literally nothing except vendors hiding in the bush and once they see human life they come out and try to sell you whatever they have. Hope that helps

I need to know if I can visit the beach if I'm not staying at the hotel. I understand the beach is public but I don't know where to park and where to access the beach. Does anyone on the beach rent loungers and/or umbrellas?

Sorry for the delay, hopefully it's not too late. So here's the scoop:
YES - the beach is officially a public beach. However....
1) It's not easy to get in. There is an entrance/path that allows access to the beach from the north side. It is heavily watched by resort security.
2) You won't be able to use any of the chairs from the resort. Even though the beach (the sand and the water) are supposed to be public, the chairs are property of the resort, the facilities (everything else) cannot be used unless you are a guest.
3) You may be approacedh by someone from security. I don't think they can kick you out, but they won't let you use the lounge chairs, towels, or anything else.
I've heard there are prettier beaches that are easier to get to, although I don't know where they are. Sorry :-(

Hello, I understand all beaches are public but how do we access the beach? Where do we park if we are not staying at the hotel? Last trip I tried to go to Gall Bay Beach but everything was so secure and there where no places to park and find a path to the beach. Please advise.

Hi. How much is the taxi fare to Galley Beach from cruise port and how long does it take to get there? Thank you

$20 is on the high side. We were told by resort staff to insist on $15. We did, and we got it. It's a quick ride, 1-2 miles, won't take long, etc.
