We arrived to have lunch at Limerz Bar, was so disappointed with this, we didn't stay around to look at the Beach, it didn't look that appealing, compared to others we had already seen.

Due to the pandemic, I couldn’t get back to where I work, but I needed to be in the same time zone as working from London where I got stuck at the beginning of it was making me ill.

Antigua is on the same time as where I normally work, so I got here on the first flight of the season with all the precautions possible. Antigua is handling the pandemic well and people maintain social distancing.

I went to the beach early in the morning just after sunrise. Parked up right near the spot on the beach I thought would be good for me and proceeded to enjoy the beach with locals coming for their morning exercise and swim - no more than 4 groups and 5 solo people were on this entire beach meaning we had a good 25 metres in between each person/group.

Crystal clear waters, gentle waves, beautiful golden sand and amazing weather. I spent 2 hours here and drove home in time for work.

It was a pleasant morning 2.5 km walk west from our stay at Connie's Comfort Suites to this beach where a cruise tour group was mounting a string of horses.
With the beach kiosks just opening, we walked 450 m south to see the ruins and cannons of 18th C Fort James. From its elevated historic restaurant, we had wonderful long views of this 1 km long stretch of sand and the guest-laden catamarans rounding the point on their sea tours.
We returned along the beach to the Fort Road junction restaurant now filling with scores of cruise tourists enjoying the surf and others sitting as waitresses providing drinks.

Hubby and I found Fort Bay Beach after visiting Fort James (reviewed separately) in January 2020 and were lured in by a food vender on the roadside. It is easily accessed from the road and has a convenient parking area. We had hoped to explore the beach but there were 5 or 6 dogs on the beach who seemed friendly and very eager to meet our dog. We watched them run up to a man on a bike who we thought owned them, but he did not because he tried to leave as fast as possible. We had minor car problems when we were leaving and a young man can over to help. He said this beach came with a guarantee! I wish we had been able to explore the beach that had no one else on it (perhaps because of the dogs) but we only stayed for a short time. I hope you enjoy the photos I took from the car!

Totally a very low key and non touristy beach. We got there early so there were plenty of lounge chairs (not charged at that early time) and it was a very laid back atmosphere. Our cab driver from the cruise pier arranged with us to return at a specified time and he was punctual too. Bars had reasonable prices, decent bathroom and a vendor or two who were not pushy while selling their wares. We also rented a jet ski for a bit and that was a lot of fun. Go.....it does not disappoint.

Beautiful uncrowded beach with rock cliffs on both sides We had a great time here. Fort James, which is basically in ruin in on one side. Water is so blue here. Only down side is the small restaurant here is average. The bar was nice. About a 10 minute cab ride from cruiseport

Quiet, clean sand, gorgeous calm emerald waters. Great for a 20 minute walk or jog. Restaurants at either end.

A white sandy beach with sunlounges and umbrellas. There is a couple of bars on the beach who appear to monitor who is dropped off by cab. They will also call your cab if you are ready to go. We walked from the ship, I wouldn’t recommend it the way the information centre sent us on the main road. Pavements are extremely limited. Too far to walk so get a cab.
It’s a pretty beach so worth a visit.
