The morning of our trip was overcast and on/off raining in St John's, which put a few people off as the sea was a bit rough. This was to our enormous benefit because there were only three of us booked for the guided tour and we had the whole experience to ourselves. Granted, the one and a half hour crossing... More

Took the day tour to Barbuda. It is actually a fairly small ferry and the trip over was pretty rough; a few passengers got sea sick. Once at Barbuda we are met by a couple of taxi vans that give a tour of the small island including the cliffs on the east side of the island; wear good walking shoes... More

The government run Barbuda Express ferry is hilarious- it's tiny and fun and quite frankly the captain was amazing. I was so lucky I had the foresight to check it was running before leaving my hotel as I only found out when I was in Barbuda from someone that it hadn't been for the previous 3 days because the sea... We were told by locals to wait for calmer waters prior to going to Barbuda. Some did get sea sick. Boat was clean. It's a catamaran ferry. 1 bathroom. Doesn't run at full capacity, booking ahead is recommended. Ocean was calm on return trip to Antigua.

While vacationing in Antigua, we went on a day tour by "Barbuda express". We arrived to the pier at 8.30 am as was instructed by our concierge. First you have to wait in line to "check in", which we did, then they embark you on a boat itself. We were supposed to leave at 9.00 but we left the pier... More

This is a very rough crossing! It is not the Caribbean you are crossing but the Atlantic. 1/2 the boat got sick and it wasn't rough. Not a white cap to be seen. 1 1/2 hours of a roller coaster ride each way.

It's around $159 per person for full day trip with lunch. If you pay credit card, there are a surcharge extra for that. The hotel charged me $30 deposit at the hotel and I paid the rest on boat and I was told $6 extra for paying credit card. There are no pick up or drop off from your hotel.... More

The Barbuda Express took 1hr 20 from St Johns and we had a smooth sailing. The staff organised a taxi and guide to take us to Lady Dianas Beach and Pink Sands beach and we had a delicious lobster lunch
