Visited Fort Barrington as part of our island tour. Built in the late 18th century, the fort was a look out station and one of the first lines of defence for St. John's by reporting ship movements from it's fantastic vantage point. It is an interesting ruin to explore with great views.

Easy distance from Royalton Resort. The hill is challenging but worth the views once you reach the top. Wear good hiking or running shoes for safety.

Wear hiking or athletic shoes. Trail is steep. 360 degrees views worth it. Did it several times as part of morning workouts.

After spending an hour looking up at the fort while sat on the beach, decided to take a walk to the top of Fort Barrington. Its a bit of a scramble in places and trainers are recommended over flip flops. Its a short climb and well worth it for the superb views over the ocean, beach and lagoon. There's not much to the fort itself but if you are so inclined you can keep walking towards the national park of the same name.

A must do when in Antigua! As others said, the walk up is a bit challenging but definitely worth it. The views are breathtaking, I loved it. It was great after going down to head to Deep Bay beach for a swim.

There is a hiking trail that leads from Deep Bay up to the fort. We stayed at the Royalton Resort in Deep Bay and it took us about 15 minutes to get to the top. This was one of our favorite things we did during our week here.

This is a nice place to visit with historical information and a marvelous view. The site needs attention as there were bottles and graffiti throughout.
