Bathrooms were dirty. They overbooked...there wasn't snorkeling or kayak opportunities like advertised. You were bothered to rent a jet ski and a massage. Will not return...package includex lunch and a drink.. They served us a cup of fruit punch.

We spent a day at Darkwood beach and rented chairs from the Darkwood restaurant there. It took about 30 min to get from the cruise port to the beach and the taxi cost was reasonable ($30 US or so). TIP: you may want to consider pre-arranging a taxi ride back to town if you don't have transportation. We had great,... More

We arrived in Antigua on a cruise stop and had arranged to go to Darkwood Beach and Stingray City with our pre-booked guide. Given the traffic and some delays getting off the ship, our guide advised us that we wouldn't make it to Stingray City for the 9AM tour. Instead we went to Darkwood Beach in the morning and then... We took the advice of several Tripadvisor reviews and made the trek to Darkwood Beach via the public transportation bus #22. The walk to the bus station was interesting. Fare was $3.00 for the two of us, one way. Takes about ten/15 minutes to get to the beach. Walking through the restaurant we were approached to rent chairs for $5.00... More

We took a taxi here from the cruise ship port and spent the day. The driver tried to talk us into another beach and I'm glad we didn't listen! This beach is breathtaking. The chairs are comfortable with great shade available if you want it. Food, drinks, bathrooms and even massages on the beach are available. Nothing to see for... More

For an adventure, go to bus terminal next to farmers market, which is a 7 minute walk from Cruise Terminal. Bus ride is about 20 minutes to Darkwood Beach. When your ready to go back, simply wave down Bus 22 and zip back to St John's. Pros: bluest and clearest ocean with white sand beaches. Cons: having to leave Note;... More
