For an adventure, go to bus terminal next to farmers market, which is a 7 minute walk from Cruise Terminal. Bus ride is about 20 minutes to Darkwood Beach. When your ready to go back, simply wave down Bus 22 and zip back to St John's. Pros: bluest and clearest ocean with white sand beaches. Cons: having to leave Note;... More

This is my favourite place in the Caribbean, we originally wasn't going here but our excursion got cancelled, so we asked some locals. We arrived here and instantly felt relaxed. The welcome we got was amazing and we didn't have to lift a finger, the food was amazing and the beer was lovely (Ting). What more could you ask for...... More

Apart from the pristine sand and views towards Montserrat and the setting sun, Darkwood Beach is great for taking a picnic. The road runs right alongside and there is plenty of space to pull off the road right next to the sand. Ideal if you carry a lot of clobber and really do not want to haul it too far.... More

We visited this beach when we came to port on our RC cruise. It was about an 8$pp cab ride from the port. This beach was quiet, no one hassled us to buy anything (like we heard other fellow cruisers say about the larger beaches) and it was beautiful!!! There was a cute beach restaurant with very reasonably priced drinks... More

One of 365 beaches on Antigua (Yes, 365). We were planning to just spent a hour here, but ended up there half of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful waters.

A long curve of flour-fine soft sand with hardly any development and astonishingly turquoise, calm and clear water perfect for swimming, Darkwood is a cut above the rest. It's backed by a large lagoon and the lush green hills of southern Antigua and you can get there via Old Road. The only spoiler was an inflatable playground moored in the... More

Visited here for one of the stops on a cruise! This was my absolute favorite beach ever . Has a small reef you can swim too! Not many tourists and not many people selling things!!! Loved it
