Coal was the reason that people came to the Crowsnest Pass in the first place, so it's well worth the time to physically see and hear the history of the area underground. More than 30 miners lost their lives in the Bellvue Mine and 189...More

Dress warmly for this one, even if it's shorts and sandals weather outside. Temperature inside the mine hovers around freezing (0C) so it makes for an unpleasant hour if you don't dress appropriately. Tours happen on a fairly regular basis. Once you have paid ($16...More

What a great tour. Cost was $16 per adult. Dress warm as the mine is around 0 degrees Celsius. Tour host was great with the descriptions of the equipment and the stories. Started with horses and eventually used machines near the end in the early...More

Reasonably priced and worth the visit if you're interested in some history of the area which was built around mining. The tour guide was very knowledgeable even though she admitted she wasn't from the Crowsnest Pass.

I expected this to be a bit lame but I actually really enjoyed it! Our group was small, about 6 people, and our guide clearly enjoyed her job. She made lots of jokes and had fun little quizzes and games for us. It was interesting...More

We took a break from the heat and froze our butts off in the mine but it was totally worth it! So much cool information and a really great experience!

By far one of the best things we did. Short and sweet but informative and amazing. Be aware the mine is super cold so dress warmly no matter how hot it is outside. We were there today and it was 27° Celsius outside and Minus...More

Our Guide was very informative and offered a detailed explanation how coal mining was done at this particular mine at the term of the century. As such the visitors developed an honest appreciation of the hardships that coal miners endured to earn a living. Miner's...More

Wonderful staff, had our puppy with us and we got to carry him on the tour. A very nice cool break from the 38* weather outside. Totally great experience learning how the coal miners laboured before any health and safety measures were put into affect....More

Thank you for the review. Glad you got to get out of the heat and cool down in the mine, it is chilly in there!

This was a fun stop off the Crowsnest Highway. A really good interpretive guide took us underground into a worked out coal mine and explained the geology and the working practices. She really understood the topic and brought it all to life. Definitely worth the...More

unfortunately no. The mine closes for tours I believe on Labour day weekend and opens again in the spring. You live in Calgary? It's well worth the trip in the summer!

Go east, just past Frank Slide there will be a sign to turn North (left). Follow the road and turn left after the ice cream shop (there are signs) and follow the road down.
