The Blue Grotto is definitely a must-see in Malta. With the car this location can be easily reached from Valetta in about 40 min, and the view already gets beautiful while still on the road. The boat trip is for sure worth the ride, and...More

Take the bus 71, 72, or 74 from Valetta terminal and go to the stop named Panorama. (Or alternatively bus 201 from Rabat to Qrendi.) Just 500m down along the road and you are in small picturesque village Qrendi. 8 euro 45minutes long boat tours...More

Grotto is really blue, like you would see on photos. Boat tours are well organized, are not expensive and last about 30 mins. I recommend take Sightseeing buses South rout (there are two different companies) to visit this place, since public transport is less convineint.

Visited the Blue Grotto, about 25 mins drive from Valletta, today. The whole experience was a disappointment. The initial experience is that the place is littered with rubbish. The boats were not sailing today, which was liveable with for us but I’m suspect many visitors...More

The Blue Grotto and the surrounding caves and cliffs are picturesque but are not mind blowing. There is a boat ride you can take for €8 (€4 for children) which is the best way to see the cliffs. The boat is small though and the...More

I thoroughly enjoyed the short boat trip in and out of the caves around the blue grotto. Our tour guide who manned the boat was ever-so-friendly, pointing out all the natural features worth seeing. I most enjoyed seeing the array of colours created by various...More

You do not need to book a boat. You should pay on the site (8€ in May, 2018), they give you ticket and boats depart with about 8 person per boat. In our case it was rather fast process, excursions last about 30 mins, maybe... More
