We hired a car and drove to the blue grotto. The view down from above was amazing and we did the boat ride for only 8 euro. It was cool to see if from the water too.

Beatiful landscape, cliffs, caves and blue water, worth a visit. The boat trip was very short (about 20 mins). Everything is very in a hurry, the guide only says where to look and you already going back. Cost 8 euros, but I would pay more...More

We caught the bus into Valletta and then a bus out to the blue Grotto. This took us about 1 1/2 hours from Sliema. To get to the boats you have to walk down a very steep hill which means you have to then walk...More

Was a pretty area with a nice photogenic 25 minute boat ride, worth the 8 euro per ticket. Can swim in the sea near to the entrance, but when we were there, saw a lot of jellyfish in the sea where people were swimming which...More

This is an interesting spot to include on your tour when in Malta - it is a bit touristy but worth the visit and it does not take up a lot of time

Our local friends brought us here for something different than the usual walking tour of Valletta. 7 of us got on a very small dingy with a supercharged motor (I'm kidding) and off we went looking for the Blue Grotto. We had fun seeing this...More

when you arrive the hill downward is very steep. There are taxis at bottom to take you back up if need be.

Not sure exactly the time schedule, but I believe the start as early as 9am during the summer. Boats leave regularly, as they hold 7-8 people.
