Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Even though it’s a magical spot, something that bother me huge time was all the plastics, glass and trash in the beach. The spot is perfect, natural, many animals, crabs, fishes... but as you can state in the pictures, I picked up some trash in 3 minutes nearby me. Guadeloupe Tourism Destination Organisation, please fix this!!

We read in some of the local guidebooks that you can “easily see the wrecks of two warships from the napoleonic wars” snorkeling in this bay. But how to find them?

We asked several people with mask before we succeeded.

Turns out the ships themselves are now gone, but what remains is four cannons from ships allegedly sunk by the French themselves in 1806 to avoid having the ships taken by the English.

I am NOT a confident swimmer, but I do love history. This was an easy swim with a mask and snorkel (no fins), and a successful view of the remnants of the Napoleonic wars! They are on the north side of the Anse à la Barque, currently below a boat belonging to the National Park, circled in my picture- about 200 feet from the north shore, and 200 feet from the landward shore.

Enter the water near the sheds on the north side of the Anse, near an abandoned marine rail.

Anse a la barque has a lovely view. It shows its half round where the boats are there. So beautiful.

We hiked to see the whole region. It was fabulous. The boats were attractive. Also wehere we were we found a canon and the trees were quite different. I had never seen such trees.

We were at the pointe de l'Anse.

Wortwhile to see!

Had a few picnics at this delightful bay. Very few visitors and so it is relatively quiet (except for the traffic in the background!). Limited parking space is available. The highpoint is the numerous pelicans diving for fish - they can entertain for hours!

Nothing to do there, just look and take in this very picturesque spot. At sunset, it is absolutely stunning.

The beach is full of boat for fishing. There is no chance to get a bath. It is full of algae. It also smells like fish market.
