Make an immediate right turn unto the parking after the east side tunnel of the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway. The trail is rocky and uneven and the trail ends at the viewpoint of Pine Creek Canyon and lower Zion Canyon. It takes about an hour. This trail make a nice filler for a long hike. Visited here 2014, 2015 and 2016.

We did this hike on the way into Zion - it was a spectacular overview of the park - well worth the crowds we encountered at mid-day. Very small children were doing this hike but I am certain if I had children that small I would have them on a leash! Great views and a dramatic overview of the canyon... More

We enjoyed this trail because of the great views of the canyon from above. Our kids (ages 7-16) did well on this hike. There were definitely some spots that were steep and where the footing was tricky. I was glad to have hiking shoes. There were also a few drop offs that made me nervous. But it was our family's... This was a wonderful 1 mile hike. My title says it has a big bang for the buck because it is only 1 mile long, young children can do it, it has some thrilling elements along the hike, and the end point is a fantastic view. What you get to see for what you put into it is far in... More

While hiking the trail, I couldn't imagine the overlook being any more stunning than the view along the way. All I can say is, it absolutely took my breath away!

This was a fun 1 mile hike to take at Zion that took about an hour. My kids (8 and 11) really enjoyed the hike up there with the stairs and rocks because they could climb around a bit on the rocks. This hike is located off the Zion-Mt. Carmel Hwy before the 2nd tunnel if you driving west (into... More

Steep but short hike absolutely worth the walk. The views are fantastic. You can even have a picnic at the top. Go early as parking is very limited.

We traveled back through the park to hike this trail after dark. It was amazing...and a bit scary. Most of the trail's scary sections (by this I mean precarious drop-offs) have railings, but there is a section where there is only about 2 feet between you and eternity... But keep going - the reward is worth it. Large, open area... More

Perhaps our favorite hike while in Zion. It involves going up an elevated slope for a bit but the pay off is you get to see a lovely cave, walk on a rickety bridge above a 3k foot drop, and then view a picturesque arch hewn by erosion into the canyon wall. The final payoff is a breath taking view of... This is a terrific hike for all ages and all hiking abilities. There is some tough uphill at the start, but most of the trail is pretty easy as far as climbing. You are well rewarded with terrific views of the canyon at the end, and you are atop a beautiful arch seem by the switch backs on the Rt... More
