We have been through Zion before, and although we did not take time this year to stop, hike or picnic, we drove slowly thru and marveled again at the incredible rock formations and colors in this amazing park. Kodak moments around every corner. July is...More

This park is absolutely beautiful. One of the most scenic drives we have ever seen. I videoed the whole drive from the gate to the visitor parking. Just couldn't find an area to turn the camera off. Nineteen minutes of gorgeous views! Highly recommend.

The views are fabulous on the drive through the park. Even if you don't have time to adequately explore this beautiful National Park, at least take a couple of hours to drive through the park and take photographs.

The drive has some spectacular scenery and very unusual rock formations and patterns. It's not that long but there are many places to stop along the way and the traffic moves very efficiently. It's a great drive going either way. It has the longest tunnel...More

We were going to leave Zion in the evening, but our plans changed and we left early afternoon - I am so glad! We would have missed the spectacular views driving out of the park. Plus, I wouldn't want to drive those curvy, hilly roads...More

There is a scenic drive in the middle of the canyon, you can drive for miles and see spectacular views from the bottom of the canyon. When the street is finished you can keep on going by foot, near the river, and then long the...More

I think some people are confusing the Zion Canyon Scenic Byway with the Zion Mt. Carmel Highway. The Zion Canyon Scenic Byway is the 6-mile spur off SR-9 that the shuttle travels. The Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway (aka UT scenic Byway 9 or Mt. Carmel Scenic...More

We came to the area for a family vacation and actually ended up going through the part multiple times. I have to say that I wasn't really a big desert fan, but this place is amazing. Even after driving through multiple times, I was still...More

This place is just beautiful. On the drive to Lake Powell we stopped to drive through and saw deer and on the way back we saw billy goats. There's several stopping points to take photos on the way.

This is one of the main entry roads into the park hence it carries much traffic. Busses and RV often take up much of the road width on blind bends. Views are amazing but drivers need to concentrate on the road rather than the views....More

I am planning to bike on the "Zion Canyon Scenic Drive" with my 7 and 9 years old kids in June. I googled and found out "Zion Cycles" in Springdale. My question is from which point we should do biking in a safe way for my kids. And Where exactly does Zion Canyon Scenic Drive start and end?

You can find a map on the NPS (dot) gov (slash) Zion website. Links cannot be shown here for some unknown reason. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive starts at the South entrance of the Park and heads north for about 6.5 miles.
We don't plan to do any hiking and will basically have just the afternoon from approx.12noon - 6pm on sunday, May 21st in Zion NP. 1.What are our chances of getting parking (at noon) at the park entrance, near the visitor's center? I understand the Scenic drive is shuttle only, right now! 2. wondering if you have any tips/suggestions in what order to 'view' the scenic drive... getting off and on the shuttle. eg: ride to the end of the route (temple of Sinawava) and then return back getting off at each stop to view and visit?

There are several places available to park close to the entrance. We got there approx 2:00 in the afternoon. Still plenty of parking inside. The shuttle comes around every 10 min. Easy on and off. You can get off and... More
