If you don’t hike your way from General Sherman to the Giant Forest Museum, you can drive down Generals Hwy to 1 of 2 parking areas. The lower parking area is across the road from the museum. The upper parking area is about a 1/3...More

This museum is very small but it is nice and provides some good info. My kids loved the lottery spinner to find out if they would make it as a seed. The graphic of size comparison was pretty cool too. Nice that they have flushing...More

The shuttle drops you off here if you park in a distance lot like we had to. Here is the Sentinal Tree and this museum along with several stops for buses to take you to other various locations near by. There is good information about...More

The Giant Forest Museum was not too impressive. The building itself is very small and the exhibits are old and dated. The information shared is average. The visitor's center at Grant's Grove is much nicer and taught us as much about Sequoias. In addition the...More

A good place to get information about Giant Redwoods. Shows where the redwoods groves are located, and the amount of redwoods in each grove.

This museum gives you a basic understanding of Sequoias, so if this is your first time to go to see them, it is worth a visit. Otherwise, OK to skip. It is not very large, and most information is available along the trails.

Not a lot to see hear, but you will welcome the bathroom break. Trails are available for hiking from here.

Fascinating displays on how large and tall all of these surrounding trees are. There is also a gift shop, water, and restrooms. The best display is the size comparison of the Genereal Sherman Tree to the Space Shuttle on the launch vehicle, the Statue of...More
