This trail is a must!! You can either do the short 1/2 mile up to the vista or continue past that point along the trail. Easy drive from the lodge/tents up to parking area at start of trail.

A one lane road to Panoramic Point is not all that well marked, but you will figure it out if you use the park map carefully. It's worth the drive for the short hike at the top which will take you to the overlook. Bears...More

The panoramic view is amazing. Climbed further to the fire lookout point and caught the sunset on the other side. Amazing colors with the clouds. Breathtaking.

The road is really narrow, more like a paved path, with lots of hairpin turns, luckily we didn't meet many other cars. Parking lot with bear box and bathroom as well as picnic tables. Short easy walk to 2 amazing views.

Great views at the top of a narrow road along the ridge line. Convenient off the grounds of the John Muir Lodge and it is a short but narrow paved road to the top. You can see all the way to the mountains as well...More

Stone throw from museum parking, it takes around 5 minutes or so, to get to this very nice observation point with some spectacular vistas over the lowlands. Worth a small detour on the way to more famous attractions.

I think our picture was almost identical to this one, with the snow-capped mountains in the distance, a gorgeous vantage point!

Nice short hike to Panoramic Point. If you like to take photos I would try and catch sunrise or sunset. It would be stunning.
