Drive-Park and take selfies with beautiful background.

Nice scenic byway to drive through and take picture of long peak in your background. Roads are icy so in winters so getting a guided tour is better.

This road is a great way to see the variable terrain of the park. There are frequent scenic area stops for enjoying the different vistas, and you often see wildlife on the drive at the scenic spots (we saw marmots, elk, moose, etc.). Bring a sweater--as you climb the trail, you will feel the temperature drop significantly!

Trail Ridge Road, the park main scenic road connecting the towns of Este Park in the east and Grand Lake in the west, offers many overlooks to experience the subalpine and alpine worlds. Around Este Park and Grand Lake areas, you will experience the montane forests and grassland. Here, abundant streams have created lush wetlands with its rich number of... More

Trail Ridge is only part of the year. If you lucky to visit when it is, you definitely should make the drive. It takes you above Treeline to the Alpine Center and down to both sides of the park. The East side (Estes Park) is the most popular, while the West (Grand Lake) is quieter but still beautiful. The road... More

We traveled here and stayed at Glacier Basin Campground for 2 nights over 4th of July weekend. This campground is in a great location, we were near Bear Lake and were able to hike the trails down near our campground here to check out some neat lakes and waterfalls. We took trail ridge road which was only about 5 minutes... More

Visited with good friends, taking us around to see and fully enjoy this amazing part of Rocky Mountains National Park. Started in bright sunny weather, had a wonderful picnic near the top at a quiet picnic table and were caught in a hail and snow storm later in the afternoon. A bit scarry, At some point traffic just stopped as... More

Trail Ridge Rd climbs through Rocky Mountain National Park from Grand Lake, CO entry into Estes Park! Spectacular scenery as you drive through. Go during the summer as it is closed off in many areas during the winter! Elevation increases as you drive through the tundra. Wildlife everywhere!!

We decided to visit Rocky Mountain National Park while we were here for a short vacation. Even though it is winter, the park has amazing views to take in on the portion of Trail Ridge Road. The park ranger at the Visitor Center was very helpful and full of information. Definitely worth a visit any time of the year!

Not to be missed. Beautiful in summer with patches of snow still melting. We saw marmots and bighorn sheep!

After reading all the reviews, this is the one must do activity! The views were incredible, stunning and awesome. I drove a Honda Odyssey minivan while my husband rode shotgun and it was a very easy to maneuver over this wide, well maintained gravel road. The Old Fall River Road is nine winding miles that go through all four life... More
