Visited during end of Sept 2017; wonderful weather; a light sweater or long-sleeved jersey was enough; the lake is breath taking; great hike so wear comfy shoes.

We actually didn't go around all of Bear Lake as we simply stopped on our way from Emerald Lake to Bierstadt Lake. However, the view you get just a short walk from the parking lot is amazing! We saw a couple informational signs that would...More

This is a nice stop. It's a nice relaxing walk around the lake with nice views. There are other trails that go out from here if you want a real hike.

We went during the first snow fall of the year and the views were absolutely spectacular! I would even consider this a hike if you park at the Bear Lake parking lot. It was a simple walk even in the foot of snow. The lake...More

We had some difficulty in getting to Bear Lake on a weekend due to the cutoffs when the parking lot is full. We travel with our dog, so the shuttle was not an option. After the weekend crush, we made it out on a Monday...More

Hello, The only issue that I can think of is the snow fall up in the mountains by December and some of the roads in the park maybe closed by then. It's a fairly easy walk but the weather concerns me.
