If you drive up the road at the Duckabush River, when you reach the dirt portion, follow the signs that lead to Murhut Falls Trailhead. There is parking for about 5 cars. The walk through the fern lined forest heads uphill for about a mile. After leveling off you eventually reach the falls cascading into a green canyon, birds chirping all around. There are several places where the trail is narrow and close to the edge, so hold the hands of your small children. Don't try to scale the falls, where a recent hiker fell and broke many bones. For a short hike, this is one of the best in the Brinnon Area.…

The waterfall is awesome!! That said, the road to get to it is riddled with giant potholes that are unavoidable in some areas. SUVs fare ok, but we scraped bottom several times in my Ford Focus. The trail is uphill in several places, and there are some areas that made me pretty nervous with my kiddo because of steep drop-offs off the side and a deteriorating walkway toward the end. There's a bench to sit in at the top to enjoy the view, but not a lot of space. It's a beautiful area, but just be aware of the pitfalls before you go.…

Short trail to waterfall, at begining still uphill, more about trail is on alltrails.com. The dusty road to the trail's start is quite far from mail road. But if you have no time, skip it.

This was a great little hike, with an awesome reward at the end! Murhut Falls was awesome! The only problem I had with getting to the trailhead was the road leading up to it. Half the road was paved, but the last half was not and was badly damaged from what I can only imagine were spring rains. The road was littered with pot holes so bad, that all my calm from the hike dissipated with the stress of the drive back. It was still worth it. :)…
