This is hard to find and about a 2.2 mile hike in and out, but it is fabulous and would be worth the drive/hike. The entrance to the trail head is just south of the Hobuck Beach Resort. Park in the lot, lock your car and have your local permit hanging from your rearview mirror. Yes there is a lot... More

This was the first beach we visited on the US West Coast so it will be a special place forever. You will need to hike/walk for a couple of miles but it is a piece of cake for backpackers, or easy hike for anyone without mobility problems. The trail can be pretty muddy though, so some might find going around... More

This is a walk.....but.....it truly is muddy. The actual hike is fairly flat on a good trail. The mud gets a bit much but as long as you have a good boot you will be fine. Runners are not enough!!!! You will be soaked and at the very end you go down a bank, while not over the top difficult... More

Even though it was dry the last week it was muddy and trying to stay on the trail. bring food and water- it seems to never end. i had to focus on the 'obstacle trail ' so i didnt see much else. was passed by overnite campers. i also was offended that the charge 10 dollars to visit this town!!... It's a long drive from Port Townsend Washington, but so very worth the drive. The views are absolutely amazing. It's a great feeling to be in such a remote place. Stay for the sunset!

It is a fantastic beach and it can be a fun muddy hike it's your choice. If you want to enjoy the beach without the mud then look for a little sign that says parking about the first 1/3 of the beach road. $10 bucks your car is safe and you walk across the road to the beach it's that... More

If you can swing it, do it! The hike out to Shi Shi (pronounced Shy Shy) is not too bad but is a bit muddy in spots. There are paths around the mud so it wasn't too bad - but we are on a hike so you should expect to get a bit dirty! At the end, however, there is... More

Relaxed here after Cape Flattery! Enjoyed a beverage (of our own) on a rock and had a special time watching the tide come in around us.

This is a super muddy hike, about 1.7 miles to the beach on a dirt/mud trail that has a lot of standing water. We tried going around the muddy areas but it took forever so we ended up just sloshing through the mud. At the end of the trail prior to going down to the beach area you must climb... More

This trail is a nice and easy, with very few changes in elevation. It's a good one to bring your kids to, just be careful of the descent to the beach. There are safety ropes so be sure to use them and you should be A-ok! I got sick of the mud towards the end of the trail, but its... More
