Fifteen of us were visiting Winthrop for 4th of July and decided to hike Blue Lake. There was still quite a bit of snow so we took walking sticks/hiking poles and we are glad we did. Absolutely spectacular view at the top and many of...More

About five miles round trip, with 1000 feet of elevation gain. Beautiful hike through the woods, with stunning views of wildflowers and Cascade peaks along the way, including the "back side" of Liberty Bell Mountain, where we saw rock climbers starting up. Blue Lake is...More

This is a 2.2 mile hike one way to a beautiful lake in the cascades. Enjoyed the hike up, which is probably "moderate", not too steep. Gorgeous mountIn peaks, flowers and the lake was crystal blue.

We were driving the North Cascades Highway (State Route 20) from Marblemount to Chelan and this was the perfect way to break up the drive and stretch our legs. The trail is four and one-half mile round trip with 1050 feet of elevation gain. It...More

The trail is rocky or narrow in some places, so it may be a little challenging for weak knees, but the views are definitely worth it. We experienced tiny ice pellets, so be prepared if the forecast is for possible showers.

Perfect length for a half day. Easy route up nothing really strenuous. The pay off far exceeds the effort to get up there. Don't be put off by the altitude climb, it's easy and well marked. No chance of getting lost. The lake is nestled...More
