Visit at night - the light them up!

Short walk to view these beautiful falls and cascades. Stay until dark because they light them up and the colors are so beautiful.

We've driven through Newhalem dozens of times and have never stopped. We really did not expect much so were pleasantly surprised at the nice walk, pretty views, cool information center, and clean bathrooms. We went during a rainstorm so the waterfalls and streams were particularly beautiful but I think it would be nice any time of year. I enjoyed seeing... More

This is a very easily accessible falls, it a short walk and a few steps. The view is nice and is a very short stop. Highly recommended for anyone passing through.

From dusk to midnight, the power company lights up the falls in color. It's beautiful! We went first in the day, then we went back at night. A short climb and worth it.

These falls are close to Newhelm North Cascade NP visitor center, a short walk through well maintained garden leads to these beautiful falls. Although walk s short but has several stairs to climb. We were here during day and realized falls are illuminated during night, courtesy of Seattle city lights, which seemed like an interesting sight so if you are... More

We were solo when we enjoyed the hike through Ladder Creek Falls. We could see where there could be lots of people to come through and enjoy the hike but we enjoyed the time we spent here alone. We crossed the suspension bridge to get to the start of the trail. We enjoyed views of the creek as we climbed... More

We happened to find out there was a ranger led tour 1 hour before the lighting of the falls, and since we were planning on visiting the lighted falls we went with the group. Some history was provided by the tanger, not sure how often this is put on. The falls themselves are really really big and thunderous, worth going... More

This was behind the power plant, across a bridge and up about 100 steps. Partially obscured by plants, rocks and the fence, you can only get a good photo of one section. Looking back at my photos this one turned out better than I initially thought. The pictures of the light show on the falls look cool.

Located along the North Cascades Highway (WA-20), near mile marker 120, on the eastern end of Newhalem, Ladder Creek Falls is accesses via a 0.4 mile (0.6) loop trail that has some steep stairs in places but is not too difficult. The trailhead is next to the Gorge Powerhouse and is reached by crossing the Skagit River via a suspension... More

Ranger, Eric guided us along the falls at night and taught us about the history of the area and the man behind the attraction. It was an easy hike - even the kids liked it
