School Field Trip

Enjoyed our stop in after a school field trip. Great place to learn & enjoy nature and strech after a drive. About an hour from Tacoma Washington & worth the stop.

The drive up to the centre perched at 5,500 ft is well worth the visit. You will make plenty of roadside stops to take photos including one of the Nisqually glacier. It was May and the snow still banked up to 20 ft high in places. A large car park and you immediately see folk have hired walking shoes to... More

The drive there is absolutely breathtaking with several overlooks on the way and at the visitor center. The Emmons Vista Trail also starts here.

A very interesting visitor center to learn more about the area and the mountain. There are displays, books, films and rangers to give you information on the park and hiking trails. A good way to start your day.

Sunrise is a great place for hiking close to Mount Rainier and getting absolutely stunning views of the mountain. Everything is in technocolor early july. We saw a cinnamon colored black bear sitting approximately 60 yards from us starring at us! Thrilling and amazing at the same time!

After a climb with lots of switchbacks you reach Sunrise. There is a very large parking lot. Plants and animals are the subject of the exhibits in the visitor center . Staff is very helpful and very good informed on the trail conditions. The views on the drive to and at the visitor center are amazing. Even better views from... More

I would suggest that you go there before sunrise. If there is no cloud cover, you will be blessed with... More

I've seen a few National Parks and I believe that Mount Rainier National Park is my favorite one that offers such astounding beauty. You can access many trails on your adventure and discover an abundant supply of wildflowers, all the while being able to take in the breathtaking beauty of Mount Rainier. You can see waterfalls as well....love seeing water... More
