This was a great trip. We saw a wolf that ran in front of our bus for several miles. The bear everyone calls Holly and her cubs and one large mail. Lunch was good. The hike for me was not that bad but could be...More

We were lucky enough to visit the Valley in a group of 8 and on a sunny day. The vistas went on forever. The fireweed was red and much of it had "smoke" at the top. It is well worth the money and the time...More

Highlight of this trip was a wolf that ran in front of our tour bus for 4 miles and then a giant bear that blocked the road for 5 minutes! The hike was beautiful and lunch was decent. The hike was moderate for me but...More

Challenging walk but it is worth it. Views and lava flows are outstanding. You can see for miles in every directions.

Very difficult hike for the mature crowd whose members are not familiar with uphill ventures. A serpentine 1.25 hour bus ride traversing the river 3 times, leads one to the Ranger station. Begin the downward path, easily marked, tends to leave your knees slightly achy...More

Took the tour while staying at Brooks Lodge. An absolutely amazing view of the largest volcanic eruption of the 20th century (30x greater than Mt. St. Helens). The tour is a one hour ride along a truly single lane road through the wilderness and fording...More

Loved this place. Try to do the hiker yourself and visit both spots. I plan on coming back and doing a few days to try to reach the crater. It is a really awesome place. Hike back up is a bit tough, bring water down...More

A well narrated bus ride over a gravel road with brown bears plentiful at the start of the trip. VTTS is an amazing lunar landscape over ancient rock layers, but the trip was cancelled one day while we were there because the bears were plentiful...More

We did a day tour from katmai via bus to this valley. Then we walked down to the valley floor, was interesting, but since we only had 4 nights in Katmai NP, I would have preferred more time with the bears.
