We were here on a lovely, clear day in May and we could see all that was laid out before us--Palm Springs (where we were staying), the Salton Sea, the fault line. I have read that you can see mountains in Mexico on a really...More

We visited in May and the views were amazing when we went. Clear views allowed us to see the Salton Sea, Palm Springs, and the fault line. Great place for pictures for sure . The drive was there passed so many joshua trees!

Keys view is a nice view and the drive there is actually a nice break from the heat when it is really hot. Only real issue is the couple of times we went the haze/smog made it hard to see very far.

For us the most rewarding of this viewpoint was that we could see where we were the day before, on the summit of Mt San Jacinto. A land of contrasts!

It's exactly what it sounds like. It's an overview that overlooks the valley below towards Palm Springs and Coachella. if you catch it on a clear day the views are incredible...but unfortunately the smog is readily available. There is not much parking so plan accordingly...More

Apparently this spot is spectacular for sunset. We tried to catch the sunset, but wind was blowing making it cold out of the car and the view was inhibited by lots of haze the day we were there.

I thought this was going to be a long trip out to see this view, but it was an easy detour on our way out of Joshua Tree National Park and a must to see the views. In the distance are snow covered mountains, the...More

We did a whirlwind tour of Joshua Tree NP the first afternoon we arrived in the area - saw Barker Dam, and did some driving around. We totally missed Keys View that day, but after reading up on it, decided to go back to the...More

A few miles off the main road in Joshua Tree National Park, the road ends at a vista on the top of a ridge overlooking the valley towards Palm Springs and the resorts that line the valley. It was a bit hazy the day we...More

Anywhere but Jumbo Rocks. Some people may not mind it, but there is a continual flow of cars driving through, people asking if they would mind if they pitched their tent on your site because the campsite is full, people... More
