We went to VNP several times in one week. We didn't see the lava lake on the first visit, but enjoyed it on the other visits.

Simply the most dramatic landscape i've ever seen... no picture does this justice. The deep black of the lava is stunning. It's so difficult to explain - the desolation is complete, terrible, and incredibly beautiful.
