I consider this a bucket list item I've checked off. It took me a year to be in good enough physical shape I was sure I'd be able to make it up, and it was still challenging. However, it is also absolutely beautiful!! Take your...More

Well, this is one for the books. Some friends and I started on the trail up in April. It was 75 degrees. We brought jackets in case we needed them but it looked like we wouldn't have a use for them. We packed lunches and...More

We have hiked up LeConte on several occasions and from several starting points. All of them are pristine in their beauty, awe-inspiring, and offer varying degrees of challenge. This time, we took the Alum Cave Bluff trail--which can be unnerving for some at the bluff...More

We chose Alum Cave Trail, about 5.5 miles, for our LeConte summit hike. The trail and the day were beautiful. The lodge at the top is a nice place to relax for awhile before the trip down. The summit is marked with a large cairn...More

We hiked to the peak of Mt. LeConte from the Alum Cave. Breathtaking views the whole way up. Unfortunately, due to the clouds, we couldn't see much after getting to the peak. Still well worth the hike!
