Grand Teton and National Elk Refuge Winter Day Trip

49 reviews
There’s a special beauty to Grand Teton National Park in the snowy silence of winter, free of the summertime crowds. On this Grand Teton day trip from Jackson Hole, a guide helps you search for bison and bighorn sheep, and you could also see moose, coyotes, eagles, or even wolves. In addition, visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art as well as the National Elk Refuge, where you ride past herds of powerful elk on a comfortable, horse-drawn sleigh.

Perfect place for souvenirs. And their staff were just delightful. And knowledgeable! We would highly recommend stopping in here.

This site is well marked from the road and easy to get to from the main park road. There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking. They have managed the COVID arrangements very well. They have arranged it with one entrance and one exit . Dots on the floor to specify 6 foot distance. The 3 d map, gift shop and ranger booth are all open. The view out the window looks directly out onto the Tetons. This is a great first stop for seeing the park and I highly recommend it for people to prepare to see the park.

Nice area to stop, not fully open but still were about to gather some information. Rangers there were helpful and nice.

We got what we needed but exhibits are closed. Bummed to not be able to see them. Able to stamp Passport book and purchase stuff.

We stopped by the visitor's center, my usual plan any time visiting a national park to collect information. Although the center was open all the exhibits were closed off and there were only a couple of rangers available for answering questions.
