This is marked as "very popular." It is that, and the view is lovely, but it is so crowded. Go a little further along (either east or west) to get wonderful views without the crowds.

Another vantage point of Grand Canyon with breaktaking views. Plenty of hiking trails. Dress appropiately since temperatures rapidly drop when sun starts to set. Try to be there for sunset to appreciate the pinks, lavenders, oranges and red reflected on the sky and canyon.

Easily accessible from the visitor centre and parking lots. Clear pathways all along the rim with an amazing view of the canyon. Would recommend this spot for sunset. Do not miss the Grand Canyon National Park sign which is good for a photo opp.

We parked in the big lot and started our viewing here. Then we hiked far along the rim towards Bright Angel Lodge. The views along the rim walkway are glorious!! This is a great place to start rim walks.

Arrived after 5 hour drive just in time to catch the sunset. Went straight to Mather point and loved our first views of the Canyon.

Mather Point was an easy walk from the parking lot and is handicapped accessible. More stupendous views of the Grand Canyon await! The overlooks are crowded with visitors but eventually you can get close enough to the rail to take some beautiful photos.

Easily to navigate trails around the Point. Fences and walls are a safety must. The views are breath taking. Words just can't describe what you can see.

You have a couple of options. If you are just driving through East to West, it would be best to come in through Cameron (off Hwy 89) there are several view points (and I consider some of these to be some of the best). When... More
