We didn't want to leave this place. Majestic, awe inspiring, beautiful, even dangerous if you are too close to the edge. Be very careful if you have young kids, never let go of their hands. Earth's gift to humanity.

Totally amazing. A nice level hike from the visitor's center to the museum. Each view of the canyon was a bit different. Take the hour and do it. Not a hard hike, but will take some time.

This is a well maintained trail with excellent views of the canyon. The national park service has improved the park greatly and taken measures to persuade the raccoons and elk from entering the trail area. You may across some deer near the park headquarters and elk towards Hermits Rest. If you can handle it I recommend renting bicycles and heading... More

We walked the rim of the rim over two days while visiting the Grand Canyon. The reason it took two days was that we kept stopping to absorb, admire and photograph the stunning views.

Almost too crowded during peak times. Lots of elk on the trail too. Lots of view points, and a nice walk. Easy to get off the trail and on to a bus at any time.

On our coach-tour visit we enjoyed the opportunity to walk some 3km along the trail between drop-off and pick-up points, which took about 2 hours. Easy walking, all fairly even on good surfaces. Views indescribable. A unique experience.

We walked just a couple of miles along the rim trail - but I wish that we'd had the time and energy to do much more! The views changed as the light changed and as we passed each 'bay' or 'promontory' . Apsolutely breathtaking! Particularly loved the geology trail where we could see and feel each of the layers of... We started at Bright Angel shortly after 9am and got to Hermit's Rest at 3pm. I believe that is about an eight mile walk, but not one that is 'as the crow flies', with plenty of awesome canyon views for 'ooh and ahh' moments and picture taking that takes some of the time. The trail is not entirely paved, but... More

Easy walk, mostly paved along the rim. Beatiful views. We walked it in evening to Hopi point to see sunset and again the following morning at Mather point.

Excellent views and and scenic vistas all along the trail. A must see if your at the canyon. Don't just do the visitor centre.
