You would have to ask them. There is a meeting the night before in Flagstaff which is helpful. If they haven't even met you or discussed logistics I think it would slow things down at the trailhead.

I don't know what the "family trip" involves. I went with my 14 year old son. "Regular trip." He was the only kid but he did fine. Don't think you need "family trip" whatever that means!
