Word of mouth has that the more remote, harder to get to and therefore less crowded North Rim offers a more authentic Canyon experience and better views. However, there is no bus service on this rim and it is closed during the winter.

great place to see the Canyon . You can get away from the crowds which are really only around the main lodge itself . Great walks from the North rim lodge or further afield . Imperial point well worth a trip . We did the...More

The size and scale of that thing is awesome. Took me a while to get the confidence to edge my way near the edge. My stomach did flip flops. Then I started worrying about all the fools not taking care near the edge. I can't...More

Really enjoyed this less crowded section of the canyon. Where there were 10,000 people at South Rim, there was 100 at the north rim. They say it's lesser developed, but they have great Lodging right on the rim that I plan to use next time....More

The North Rim is hard to get to, but a much better place to view the wilds of the Grand Canyon. It defies words and everyone should go at some point.

We camped for the night on the north rim prior to hiking across the canyon. The view from Bright Angel Point was awesome. The campground store was well stocked and we were able to get a good night sleep there.

After all the amazing things we have seen on our outwest trip, this was not a disappointment in fact...it was the show stealer! I must admit after our day at Zion I was afraid it would be anticlimactic. The trails at the visitors lodge were...More

Hard to get to but definitely worth a visit. Not commercialized or built up like the South Rim. Very tranquil and with gorgeous vistas. The lodge is a great spot for sitting, eating, staying and taking in the scenery

We were fortunate to see the North Rim during and after a May snow storm Amazing to see the clouds rise up from the Canyon. Color of rocks change from dawn to dusk. Certainly dress in layers and respect the high elevation. Great from pictures.

The north rim is such a gem! Much less people, great views of the canyon and a more laid back experience. We did a mule ride down into the canyon which was so fun!

The views from the north rim are in most ways superior to the south but there is less development as well. Fewer places to eat and activities. They do have two mule rides for those under 200 pounds and a couple night fireside events but...More

Each site has its own beauty. South rim is much more busier and is the classic Grand Canyon visit. I would do that first and then do the North Rim at a later day.Just be ready for the crowds on the south rim. Enjoy.
