We were in town for an event that recommended we do a slough slog and we found this FREE slog offered by the NPS. The only associated cost is the park entrance fee but I already had a National Parks pass so we were set. This was an amazing experience with Ranger Gustavo Lopez and I would have been wiling... We stopped here on a recent trip due to TA reviews and were not disappointed. The trails here are a ~7 mile trip out to the observation tower at the very back of the area, with a similar length trip back again afterwards. You can opt to hike there yourself for free (other than the entrance fee you'd need to... More

Where to choose to go when visiting the Everglades for the day from Miami?I had researched it a lot and this seemed to be the best bet...we had a good walk around the nature trails near the visitor centre and saw several alligators and some birds, plus turtles. To get the best experience here- and to make it worthwhile, really... More

We went during the summer which means, not a lot of wildlife to see. We did end up seeing about 8 gators while on the tram ride. The staff is very informative and they make sure to point out birds, gators they see along the ride. Half way through the ride you go to a look out point. It is... More

This vast expanse of grasses and dwarf cypress is quite amazing. We enjoyed the walking and found lots of opportunities for photography . Wildlife was plentiful but given it was the middle of summer perhaps not as much as others have described , the upside was that crowds were non existent- we had many places to ourselves.

Spent the day on 25 mile biking and walking trip at the national park. Gators were everywhere. Saw lots of wild life from endangered birds, butterflies, lizards and lots of different types of fish. The staff was friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean and convenient Parking was easy and right there. Overall, this was a great day.

Amazing birds and alligators galore. I cannot imagine anyone could travel the Slough and not see unlimited wildlife, flora and fauna. I loved it in the poring rain. I would have to say, must see!

We had a great time. I would recommend a hat, sunscreen, water and snacks. You may not see an alligator, but I would be prepared.
