Awesome vegetation

This trail didn't have any wildlife but the vegetation was incredible. It's also a nice shady walk. They also give you some good info as you walk.

This was a very simple hike. Saw some different trees and that's about it. There are interpretive signs throughout the trail.

Do not attempt this trail without mosquito repellent. We put on copious amounts and still got bit. There is not much to see but a few Gumbo Limbo trees, which you can see at other places in the park.

Right next to Anhinga Trail. Good for 20 minutes strolls. Beautiful vegetation. Interesting feel under the canopy. No alligators or birds. Just a peaceful walk - we were alone; most people skip this trail.

This trail is very different from the Anhinga Trail. It is jungle-like with tall trees and lots of vegetation. We were there in January so there weren't many mosquitoes. Take spray anyway so you aren't caught off guard. We saw a few butterflies and lizards. The most interesting were the tree snails. We found them about halfway up the trees.

This trail is fairly short, but its a little rugged. The trees are growing onto the trail and the trail itself is bumpy in parts. Dont get me wrong, it is a beautiful trail with trees all around. Theres even a little pond area in one spot. We witnessed a few wheelchairs on the trail and they were having a... More

Enjoyed this short walk through the woods, saw butterflies and snails and various fauna, including a huge strangler fig. A different experience than the neighboring Anhinga Trail which is a boardwalk, but nonetheless pleasant.

Came with my girlfriend in December 2016 after we went through the Anhinga Trail. She is like sugar for mosquitoes so briefly after we entered she started to feel them around, she got 43 bites in a 15 minute walk. Don't make the same mistake! Apart from that, the walk is short (0.4 miles) and can be done in 15... More

This was a nice change from the Anhinga Trail but while it gave an excellent idea of how hard to navigate this country was when the Spanish explorers came through, it didn't have as many vistas. It was definitely worth the short walk and I had the 100% Deet spray on, so no bites. The solution holes were nice and... More

Short trail through trees. Lots of shade, even more mosquitos. My daughter is popular with them so she got 20 bites as we zoomed down the trail.
