Got a little lost along the drive to Everglades and ended up here. Drove right through it without recognizing where we were. Not much there to see...

There are limited views of the bay from the shore but if you have a boat or rent one you have the opportunity to get up close to dozens of white pelicans and other wildlife in the bay. For the history buff a visit to the Smallwood Store is worthwhile.

Leaving the dock of the Everglades City which is part of the Everglades National Park. you will look to your left and the see a wide bay with an island connected by a causeway to Everglades City. On the island there are many beautiful seasonal homes. Also there is the Smallwood Store, an important part of the trade history for... More

We reserved the boat trip through the mangrove...big motor problem...after an hr delay they gave us the free boat trip Ten Thousand Islands. The captain & the guide were very good . . . but it was just a boat trip - we did see some wildlife and some dolphins-but the excitement level was fair. It did occupy 2 hrs... More

We booked the mangrove boat tour for 11am and it was low tide which was supposed to be a good time to go. Wildlife would be more concentrated in the deep pools. Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time and be sure to slather up with sun block, wear a hat with a chin strap and wear Capri pants... More

I am so happy that we got a chance to see this area from a kayak it gives you a chance to see nature with out a huge motor scaring everything away. We went with evergladesareatours and had a blast, even had a chance to walk around on the islands.

The bay is beautiful with access along the road. Great photo ops and fishing boats go out from the marina.

You have to get out on the water to appreciate the bay. There are boat tours available. For me, the way to be one with the bay has been to be paddling a kayak, preferably with my wife padding a kayak of her own next to me. The shallow draft of a kayak allows a paddler to not only traverse... More

Take the Mangrove Boat tour with 6 people into the park. Chances are that you will see the manatee en route as well as the ospreys nesting. Pelicans, cranes, aninghas decorate trees father in. Few gators are spotted. The anecdotes and information on species and wildlife was presented and interesting but what makes this tour pop is when one gets... More
