Because we had a car, we could drive right up to the dog kennels. We arrived 45 minutes before the presentation which gave us time to walk around to see the dogs. Viewing stands for the presentation are on 3 levels. Only the bottom level...More

This was our first time when we were so up-and-close to sled dogs, and these dogs are majestic! We took the 9:15 AM shuttle for the 10 AM show, and the buses were packed. The ranger (sorry don't recollect the name) was excellent. He told...More

Denali is the only national park that maintains and trains dog sled teams. The dogs are used for heavy backwoods work in the winter. I loved this park attraction and demonstration of a sled team in action.

Very informative and lively demonstration, capped by watching a team of dogs pull a sled around the training track at full speed.

Great for kids of all ages. Only sled dog operation in a national park. Our show was cancelled due to an emergency in the crowd but the ranger did an excellent job of filling us in on the details. Prepare to stand or bring your...More

My family really enjoyed it. We drove to it ourselves even though they recommended to take the shuttle. We ended up staying a little longer than the shuttle people. If you drive yourself, make sure you get there at least 20 min. or so before...More

All the sled dog excursions were sold out, so we opted for this demonstration instead. Informative, fun, and FREE! The rangers did an excellent job, answered lots of questions, and let us have lots of time petting the dogs. Only a few of the dogs...More

I really enjoyed seeing the sled dogs at Denali. The demonstration itself was a bit of a letdown, as the dogs only go around the course one time, and with everyone holding up their cell phones, it was impossible to get any pictures. The gentleman...More

Free to attend, this demonstration shows the absolute joy the handlers have with these amazing animals. They love to pull things and it is what they strain to do. The dogs were awesome to visit, most were easy to walk up to and pat, the...More

You have the option to take a bus from the visitor center or you can hike there. The bus ride is a short ride and offered round trip. Dress casually, the same as you would for the national park!
