Love it!

What a great place to visit! It is a wonder to see inside of the caverns, yet the drive up is just as beautiful! Be sure to take in every second!

I am not a cave type person and my wife has trouble with dark closed in spaces. Fortunately the covers are large and lit ok. She still struggled but was able to enjoy the experience. We walked down 800 feet in a mile. I was sweating as the cave is 90% humidity. The views were spectacular. I recommend the walk... More

Last year we were here to be disappointed to find that the elevator to the caverns was not in operation. I'm happy to say we were able to return to complete our visit this time. Give yourself 2 hours or more to walk through the Big Room and really take it all in. It happened to be school break this... More

We were visiting Marfa and big bend and flying out of El Paso ... we discovered that Carlsbad was not that far out of our way to El Paso airport from big bend and broke up the trip by spending a night in carlsbad. Totally glad we did it - amazing - don't expect anything special from hotel strip outside... More

It was my husband, 5 and 2 year old girls and myself here. We all absolutely loved it. We made it farther back into the caves than we expected. My little 5 year old received her Ranger badge and still talks about it. It was an Awesome experience and look forward to bringing the girls back when they are older.

OK Visitor Center, nothing super special but you walk through it to get to the elevators. There is a nice view from the parking lot as well.

I'm not sure there are words to describe this amazing wonder. We hiked the natural entrance, it's steep with quite a few switch backs, but very worth the effort. It's not necessarily difficult as there is a hand rail, but if you have any problems with knees or feet you might want to consider the elevator. Once down you are... More

It's not every day you get to descend 800 feet into the Earth, go with plenty of time to take it all in. During busy seasons, the earlier you get there the better. I went during Spring Break and although it was extremely busy, I still had a fantastic time. The weather was great. Staff was friendly. Highly recommended!

We have been to Mamouth Caves in the past. Carlsbad Cavern puts it to shame. If you go to Carlsbad make sure you do the self tour on the big room then pay for the guided tour to the Kings Palace which is the deepest part of the cave (830'). If you are in really good shape then the last... More

We entered the building at the Carlsbad Caverns where the visitors center is housed. If you are able to and not worried about the rough climb down, you would enter the cave from the outside natural entrance. Inside the visitor center, the other alternative, there is an elevator that will take you straight down, over 750 some feet, to enter... More
