We have been to other caves and caverns but these are probably the largest and the best we have seen. Amazing going down 750 ft in an elevator and touring underground in these HUGE caverns, Its a must see if you are in the area.

This is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Approximately 3 miles of walking, in three hours of viewing the caverns. All ages traveling were completely captivated with this experience. Highly recommend!!

I really loved hiking in the natural entrance. Our whole family did (kids age 6 and 8). It was easy to find a pace that lets you awe and marvel at all of the formations and still get there in a reasonable amount of time. It's almost all downhill the whole way, so it is easier than climbing up, but... More

We really enjoyed the incredible scenery of Carlsbad Caverns. We opted to walk down to the caverns rather than take the elevator. It adds significant time to the tour (additional hour so your 1.5 tour becomes a 2.5 hour tour) but if you don't mind a lot of walking it does provide a greater experience. Just slowly making your way... More

Been to many caves in our years. This one has so many unique formations, your camera will be full, by the end of your walk. It is also convenient for seniors as you can take elevator down and up.

My wife has a bad knee so our walking was limited. We went through the big room, maybe 1 1/4 miles total. Incredible sights in the caverns, very nicely presented. The lighting is incredible, the cave features like nowhere else. Have to say though, the Park Rangers were the rudest we have ever come across.

We only had a couple of hours to tour the caverns but we really wanted to see them. I was last here when I was a young kid (40yrs ago) and remember it as an amazing sight. My family enjoyed seeing the caverns and were amazed at the size and depth of the caverns. I was still amazed but a... More

By taking the natural entrance, you will see more of the cave than those who take the elevator down. More by over 1 mile. It is amazing.

First off I think it was $10 an adult to get in . Anyone under 15 yrs old was free which was great it saved me $20 on my two teenagers. We did the natural cave entrance . This is the first cave I've ever done where you can enter through the natural entrance. It's also the first self guided... More

Getting up the hill to reach the entrance is quite a drive but once there there is lots of parking and the entrance building is new and modern. There are 2 ways to get to the cavern - walk or elevator. The walk adds about an hour each way to the tour but everyone commented on how interesting it was.... More
