A very short easy hike for anybody with some mobility - and totally worth making the effort for. The scenery at the overlook, looking down at the gooseneck shape of the river, was wonderful. Beautiful reward for very little effort.

Pull off the road and go back to this. Not far from the beaten path and up a short distance and be prepared to be wowed. And if you're lucky your youngest child will sit on a narrow outcrop teetering hundreds of feet above the...More

The overlook is easy to get to and the short easy climb up provides a nice panorama of diverse rock formations.

As other people have said this is just off the main route through the park and is easily accessible to all as only a short walk from parking so if you have limited time to spend in Capitol Reef then stop here to get a...More

The shape of the river is very interesting to view from far above. The theories of the formation are fun to ponder.

There are more impressive sights in Utah, but this is a worthwhile stop if you're passing through Capitol Reef. Just a mile or so off Route 12 on a dirt road, just keep going to the end. Then it's a short walk to the overlook....More

This hike is super short, although pretty steep in some areas. With taking pictures it took us less than 20 minutes with a baby in a carrier. The river was very low, so the goosenecks were not all that exciting.

A short hike to a very scenic overlook. It was extremely windy when we were there and actually a little scary. My son who is afraid of heights chose not to go out to the overlook. I did but did not feel extremely comfortable and...More

A popular location according the the visitors center and we stopped to check it out. It's a great place and a must see. The deep colorful canyon can take your breath away. The short walk along the edge to the overlook railing rewards you with...More
