I have reviewed many of the attractions in this park separately. The Waterpocket Fold is an element in most of them. This is the one big thing that makes this park worthy of national park status. Everything else is rock formations not so very different...More

I read a description of this geological formation ahead of time, but it's still amazing to realise the tremendous forces at work that formed it. Glad I got to see a part of it in the park.

The hike through the narrow slot of Headquarters Canyon is impressive and lots of fun. Driving along Notom Road, the Waterpocket fold is a short distance away -- you can make out its convolutions from a distance but you must enter the folds of rock...More

If you are into geology you will love this place. There are slot canyons, great rock formations, awesome hiking. I would recommend giving yourself two days here at a minimum. Not crowded like the other Utah parks.

Couldn't believe our eyes. Around every turn was a new massive structure of rocks, canyons, etc. Our Coutry is truly an amazing place. So glad we took this route to get to our next venture.

We had the pleasure of driving the Notom/Burr/Hwy12/Hw24 loop in May. Wow!! If you can, get to the Strike Valley Overlook down the Upper Muley backcountry trail. This is the shot on the front cover of the brochure.
