At Green River Overlook, you will be able to see both Green and Colorado Rivers and the canyons which stretch one after another unending into the horizon. Views from Green River Overlook reach from the depths of the Green and Colorado rivers to the mountaintops and above. The landscape is stunning! The colors are outstanding! The scenery has some resemblance... More

Green River is one of the most dramatic viewpoints in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. This district is located about 30 miles west of Moab, UT via US191 and UT313. Admission to the park is $25/car (good 7 days) or NPS passes are accepted. The parking lot for this viewpoint is on Green River Overlook... More

We sat and looked out for ages over this amazing vista. The whole area is magical and a wonder of nature. Great time to visit as although very cold the sky was clear blue and the sun was shining through. The park is also very quiet at this time of year

This is perhaps the easiest opportunity to enjoy the vistas offered in the Island In The Sky section of Canyonlands. While we prefer the opportunity to hike in the national parks, those who may be more limited or are dealing with high summer temperatures may prefer a less taxing park visit. Should that be the case, this Overlook is a... More

This is another spectacular overlook in the Canyonlands National Park. Such incredible views of the river that carves a path through the rocky landscape.

If you're not used to looking at canyons carved out by rivers this is really impressive and different from anything else you will have seen before. It's a view of the big picture of a canyon as opposed to being closer when you can only see the near view

As the name implies, you see the Green River from this dramatic viewpoint. It looks like someone took a knife and cut a trench through a plateau. Of course, it's the Green River that carved this path through millions of years. The view is still "other worldly". This viewpoint looks down on a bend in the Green River as it... More

A must see shop in Canyonlands national park. As you drive around the park, there is a parking area to stop and the viewpoint is a very short distance to walk. The views are unbelievable and you have a great view of the green river. After Mesa arch, I liked this the best in the 'island in the sky' section... More

From the visitor center, on the road at the junction, where Mesa Arch lies on one side of the junction, the other side leads to "Green River Overlook." It overlooks the Green River (surprised?) At the vantage view o=point, the Green River bends toward the view point. Down below is a road (of sorts) for high-clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicles. e... More
