Great stop in the Badlands

Worth a short stop to walk a bit. VIEWS are incredible. The day was gorgeous. The park is always interesting. There is something to do for everyone.

I loved this hike. It is short and you follow the trail markers across the rock formations. It is fun to find each consecutive trail marker, a little like a scavenger hunt. It was 42 degrees when we did the hike and the temperature was perfect and there weren't very many people.

All of Badlands National Park is beautiful, but don't miss the door trail ... it's an easy walk on a boardwalk, with an almost as easy, short off-boardwalk trail. You'll think you're on another planet! ...but, remember to "Watch for Rattlesnakes" ... I didn't see any, but you can't miss the posted sign :)

This trail is easy to navigate via a well-defined boardwalk. You can also venture off the trail but use caution on the steep and rocky landscape. Beautiful views and very different from other parts of the Badlands.

Just inside the Badlands entrance going toward Interior, this is an amazing place to take sunrise pictures. Be sure to take the trail back and do some exploring!!!

This trail starts off with a short hike on a very level boardwalk. Once you reach the sign that says “The Baddest of the Badlands”, you can either stay on the boardwalk for a tiny bit more, or veer off and walk on some steep rocks and carefully climb on some treacherous surfaces. There are bright yellow very clearly numbered... More

The first part of the trail is board walked and easy to access. You can go further out onto the trail with a minimally difficult hike. It's also possible and ok yo walk around off trail and check out the crevices and drop offs.

The door trail is less than a mile round trip and boardwalked so you can get out of your car and into this beautiful landscape. This is easy enough for small children, strollers, wheelchairs and those with limited mobility

the door trail in itself is short, but you can continue to walk for as long as you want. when you look through the door trail, the view is wonderful. you need to be careful and i would strongly advise only walking on the rock formations during good weather. also, be aware of where you set your feet, the rocks...
