Not for the faint of heart or anyone afraid of heights; probably the most dangerous hike of Acadia but boy, is the view worth it. It's more of a rock climb than a "hike". Have the proper equipment and be in good physical shape. Plenty...More

Fantastic hike near the top of our ability range. A couple places have narrow ledges with iron hand rails attached to the mountain face. Don't overthink it, but don't let go. The views were rewarding. Protect from sun.

So I posted a review of the Beehive the other day and began by saying we stepped out of our comfort zone to do that trail. Well this trail obliterated our comfort zone! We heard about the trail from a national park employee who recommended...More

As avid rock climbers (and somewhat lazy hikers), my husband and I have planned to do this trail for a few years now, but it never seems to work out with the park trail closures (this trail is closed for most of the spring/summer hiking...More

This is an amazing trail with outstanding views but should not be attempted by novice hikers or anyone with any fear of heights. It is a strenuous climb with many difficult spots that require climbing over rocks and navigating narrow paths. Worth the effort if...More
