From early morning as the mist descends the Shannon Estuary to the Wild Atlantic Sea, to the setting of the sun in the late of the evening, ShannonFerry will take you and your vehicle on this memorable 20 minute journey across the estuary linking the iconic tourist destinations of the Banner County of Clare to the Kingdom of Kerry.

This is a lovely experience for visitors who would like a short break in their journey to relax as they sail across the majestic Shannon Estuary. And if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the dolphins, which in the summer, can sometimes swim so near the ferry, as if just to entertain you.

As the only vehicle ferry trip on the main spine of the Wild Atlantic Way, this invigorating journey allows you experience the rugged nature of land and sea as you breath in the fresh salty sea air that encapsulates Irelands Wild Atlantic Way.

As we were staying in Glin the ferry was just a few minutes drive away, we paid €19 to travel over to county Claire by ferry by car.it was efficient and well organised, shame we didn't see any dolphins, too early in the year I guess

Great views of Shannon estuary would recommend getting out for walk around on departure as the crossing is quite fast..Good way to travel from Dingle to Cliffs of Moher.

I have used this service 8-10 times a year for the last 20Yrs and have always found the service first class and punctual even on the roughest of winter seas ! A great short cut from Kerry to Clare and vice versa and always a great visual experience particularly on a clear summers day when you might even catch a... More

This ferry was recommended to us by a friend who is from Ireland and now living in Canada. We were staying in County Clare and wanted to go to Limerick for the day. Taking the Shannon ferry not only shaved about 90 minutes off our drive time, it was an experience in itself. We checked out the ferry times on... More

This was a pretty cool thing for us land locked tourists. It was a cool way to get from Killimer to Tarbert and beat driving all the way around. It is just a ferry, but it was quite an experience to drive on to it, travel across the water, and drive off. Maybe I'm just easy to entertain.

We took this route while on our way to Killarney. The ferry wasn't good expensive. It was fairly short and the scenery wasn't really anything amazing

We showed up 10 mins. before departure and drove on within a few minutes. Entire ride took only 20 mins and saved us over an hour of driving from Cliffs of Moher area to Dingle. Very pleasant and efficient - saved us approximately 2 hours driving from Kilkee.

Get out and enjoy the scenery while riding. There are beautiful views. The ride isn't very long so walk to both sides.

a great shortcut from Kerry to Clare, but a tad pricey. It's a great way across the river Shannon, and with good views up and downstream (as well as TWO power stations). BUT it's NOT a tourist attraction,,,it's a ferry
